Hurricane Laura Disaster Relief Response
The Miami Valley is no stranger to tragedy or the impacts of a natural disaster. After the Memorial Day Tornadoes struck our region in 2019, the response and support we received from the community was inspiring.
Through our disaster response, we not only partnered with local organizations, but also with the National St. Vincent de Paul Disaster Services Corporation (DSC). The financial support we received from DSC and St. Vincent de Paul Councils around the country made it possible for us to be on the front lines of tornado recovery efforts.
Now, as Hurricane Laura devastates parts of the Southern United States, we know that DSC and the local St. Vincent de Paul Councils will be on the front lines helping their neighbors rebuild. We want to show them the same support that they showed us. A team of five volunteers from Dayton is preparing to deploy to Louisiana, and we are sending them with necessary equipment and relief supplies to support hurricane-affected men, women, and children. The St. Vincent de Paul Dayton District Council will match your financial gift for national SVdP disaster efforts this year, up to $25,000.
