ST. VINCENT DE PAUL DAYTON AND NEW LIFE FURNITURE BANK PARTNER TO FURNISH HOMES FOR NEIGHBORS IN NEED
Expanded partnership connects community furniture donations with households rebuilding after experiencing homelessness and other crises

DAYTON, Ohio (Oct. 12, 2026) – St. Vincent de Paul Dayton and New Life Furniture Bank are expanding their partnership to help more Greater Dayton neighbors furnish their homes. Through the partnership, furniture donated at St. Vincent de Paul’s CityThrift store will be distributed by New Life Furniture Bank to qualifying individuals and families, bringing together the organizations’ strengths to support neighbors working toward stability.

Community members can continue dropping off gently used furniture at CityThrift’s donation drive-through or contact New Life Furniture Bank to schedule a pickup. New Life Furniture Bank will have dedicated warehouse space within the CityThrift building to collect and store donated furniture and coordinate in-home delivery for families served through participating referral partners.

This collaboration marks Phase 1 of New Life Furniture Bank’s intentional expansion into the Dayton area, establishing a local hub to help meet the significant need for essential furniture.

“For a neighbor rebuilding after a crisis, moving into housing is an important step, but an empty apartment can still leave a family without a place to sit, eat together or rest,” said Angie Grilliot, executive director of St. Vincent de Paul Dayton. “This partnership brings together our relationships throughout the community and New Life’s expertise in furnishing homes, allowing each organization to focus on what it does best. Together, we can strengthen support for neighbors across the Dayton region and help more families turn an empty house or apartment into a home.”

The expanded partnership builds on a referral relationship established in 2019. Since then, New Life Furniture Bank has furnished nearly 900 homes through referrals from St. Vincent de Paul Dayton. The new hub represents the next step in that partnership and provides a foundation for New Life Furniture Bank’s continued growth in the Dayton area.

Each year, St. Vincent de Paul Dayton’s 28 primarily parish-based volunteer groups, known as Conferences, assist more than 56,000 neighbors throughout the Miami Valley. Their person-to-person support includes emergency financial assistance, food, clothing and connections to community resources. The furniture partnership builds on this work by helping neighbors access essential furnishings as they establish stable homes.

“I grew up in Dayton, so expanding New Life Furniture Bank’s services in my hometown means a great deal to me,” said Dana Saxton, president and CEO of New Life Furniture Bank. “We see how difficult it is for families to rebuild their lives when they have the keys to a home but no beds to sleep in or table to gather around. This partnership with St. Vincent de Paul gives us a local foundation to reach more families. I’m grateful for the opportunity to bring this work home.”

To donate furniture, visit CityThrift’s donation drive-through at 945 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd., Dayton, OH 45417. Donors who need a pickup can call New Life Furniture Bank at 513-313-0530 or visit its website for scheduling information and accepted items. Furniture should be clean, gently used and functional.

Individuals and families seeking furniture assistance should work with a participating St. Vincent de Paul conference or another approved social service referral partner. These partners determine eligibility and connect qualifying households with New Life Furniture Bank.
